Advertising Rates: LunaSea Theatre’s The Monument
LunaSea Theatre presents The Monument February 28 – March 4, 2012 at the Bus Stop Theatre. Continuing LunaSea’s history of raw, gripping theatre, The Monument explores the effects of violence in the aftermath of war.
Recipient of the 1996 Governor General’s Award for Drama, The Monument investigates the repercussions of violence when a young soldier convicted of war crimes is saved from execution by a rage-filled woman desperate for answers.
Written by Colleen Wagner and directed by Mauralea Austin, The Monument stars award-winning actors Martha Irving and Stewart Legere. In unflinching detail, The Monument forces us to collectively face the reality of human brutality, and to question our capacity to forgive.

LunaSea Theatre Company was founded in 2006 by top-theatre artists Mauralea Austin, Mary Colin Chilsholm, Martha Irving and Sherry Smith. The award-winning company seeks to give voice to women’s stories and perspectives and to showcase the rich diversity of female theatrical artists in Nova Scotia. Projects are artist-initiated, driven by creative passion and strive to create essential, world-class theatre in Nova Scotia.
The Programs
LunaSea Theatre performed for close to 1,000 people in 2011. The Monument Program will reach up to 500 audience members at the Bus Stop Theatre February 28 – March 4, 2012. It is an excellent opportunity to reach those who support arts and culture in HRM.
