A Nova Scotian seven person all-star cast takes to the stage in Hannah Rittner’s “Estate”. Set on Georgia MacInnis’ family estate turned artist colony in the Annapolis Valley, “Estate” is a tragi-comic ode to land, love and loss.Twenty- three year old playwright, Hannah Rittner, is a recent graduate of King’s College. LunaSea’s production of her script was the first choice of Neptune’s “Open Spaces” contest … winning a free week of rental and tech support at the fabulous Neptune Scotiabank Studio Theatre! Charismatic Georgia MacInnis (Mauralea Austin) has transformed the family farm into a gathering place for artists, dreamers and seekers but in a neo-con world, the yoga retreats, pottery and ancient apples no longer pay the bills. Now the estate with its beloved Orchard is in peril. Upstart biz whiz Richard (Michael McPhee) schemes to save the day but will he be able to convince Georgia to fancy dance to his fiscal footwork?

LunaSea Theatre Company

When Sherry Smith and current co-AD’s; Martha Irving, Mauralea Austin and Mary-Colin Chisholm realised they collectively had over a hundred years of theatre experience, they decided to produce their first show, “The Donahue Sisters” by Irish writer Geraldine Aron.
Fast forward six years and the company has produced multiple award winning shows including: “Perfect Pie”, “Girl in a Goldfish Bowl”, Alan Bennett’s “Talking Heads”, Mary-Colin’s “To Capture Light”, an all women “Twelfth Night”, “Woman and Scarecrow”, “Top Girls” and “The Monument”.
LunaSea’s mandate is to produce plays of artistic merit, which expand theatrical experience, highlight the contributions and talents of women to theater, and mentor young artists.

Carols in the Cathedral

Candlelight performance featuring the Twelfth Night Choir, Ian Sherwood, the Reade Family Singers and many more

Join hosts Deb Allen and Mary-Colin Chisholm plus LunaSea’s Twelfth Night Choir for LunaSea Theatre’s Third Annual Carols in the Cathedral on Monday, December 10th at the Cathedral Church of All Saints at 7:30pm. The choir from LunaSea’s Twelfth Night are joined by special guests Ian Sherwood; the Reade Family Singers; soloists Ellen Denny and Ann Doyle; a cappella trio Girlband; and pianist Willem Blois.

An evening of candlelit songs, dance and delight; this carol sing-along fundraiser grew from LunaSea’s acclaimed 2009 production of Twelfth Night. Now in it’s third year, the fundraiser has become a Christmas tradition for many. This year’s theme is Winter Holiday Traditions and we will be sharing Christmas memories and traditions of local celebrities.

Join LunaSea Theatre on Monday, December 10th, for Carols in the Cathedral, at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Martello Street at 7:30pm.
